Iraq Expands Digital Transformation in Government Telecommunications Services
Iraq’s Minister of Communications, Mustafa Sanad, discussed with Taurus Arm plans to expand the government’s secure LTE network project, with the aim of providing government institutions across Iraq with safer and more efficient telecommunications services.
The discussions explored opportunities to increase network speeds and leverage 5G technologies to support the requirements of government digital transformation and improve data exchange between ministries and other government entities.
Secure government networks provide dedicated telecommunications infrastructure for public institutions, helping reduce reliance on commercial networks for the transmission of sensitive information.
During the same period, the Ministry of Communications also reviewed the progress of Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) projects in several governorates as part of a broader plan to improve Iraq’s internet infrastructure and expand access to digital services.
Developing government telecommunications infrastructure is considered a key requirement for automating government transactions, integrating government databases, and delivering electronic services to citizens.
